slider problem - flicker??

hi guys can anyone tell me why i am getting this flicker on the nivo slider at top of main page please -

mmmm how strange it seems to have gone now - i was getting a sort of flicker in between the transitions - ahh well seems ok now - sorry to have bothered you

Not sure if I should re-open this thread or start a new one as I have the same issue.

On investigation it looks like the issue is more apparent when using Google Chrome and it looks like the slideshow (not just limited to the Nivo slider either) does the following:-

Displays the image,
Displays the next image for an instant before being hidden ready for the transition,
The transition is run and the image appears,
Repeat for all images.

Once all the images are in the cache it stops glitching, but it doesn't look good on the visitors 1st visit.

Any ideas on how to fix this?
