Layer Visible On Load, Click To Close?

I'm trying to make a layer with a logo in the center visible on load (over the center of a page) with a click to close button. I can make the layer open with a button, and use the locking popup tweak to keep it open, then a click to close button, but I need to have the layer open automatically on page load and then have a click to close. Is this possible?

I think there is a tweak or a bit of code to do this Jim. But I have no idea what it is.

What if you did this. Create your home page with what appears to be a pop up layer but is actually something on the mouse off layer. Then create a copy of the home page without the pop up. Link the close button on the faux popup to the home page copy.

Would that work?

The close button on the logo opens a pop up layer containing a white rectangle to cover the content area and a copy of the text.

On the xara-users.info opening page for this demo, the background is initially darkened. Can you tell me how that was done? I can't get it to work using the highslide popup editor and was hoping you could help.
