Default Problem embedding a Youtube video in Web Designer 7.

I've uploaded a clip on Youtube. The video is in widescreen format and plays and displays perfectly on Youtube.

If I embed the clip on my webpage however there are black bars on either side of the screen. These are not the normal 4:3 to widescreen bars though. They are quite narrow and are also situated OUTSIDE the Youtube frame.

I've tried playing around with various sizes but no success.

As I said the video plays perfectly on Youtube and in other players but just does not display properly in Xara.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Peter.

I actually mean't the URL to your Web Designer created site which shows the problem.

However, I should ask, what height/width embed code are you choosing?

Sorry, I haven't uploaded yet. Still busy with creating the site. It doesn't matter what width and height I use it still comes out the same.

    Cheers.

I've tried your file and yes, it doesn't have those lines on them. I see that you're using a newer version of Xara to mine. Not sure if that could also be a factor.

The thing is, I created three videos and uploaded them onto Youtube. All with exactly the same settings. Two of them load perfectly in Xara and one doesn't.

I just tried with your size settings and it still gives me the same hassle.

    Cheers.

My updated version make no difference, it works the same way back as far as the first Web Designer. The size is governed by the height and width attribute in the iframe code (which I indicated in red under each placeholder.)

Please attach your Xara file so that I can see what you are seeing, I think there's something simple that you are overlooking

Sorry not an answer but possibly the same prob.
Having just purchased web designer 8 I'm having problems sizing & centering my embedded youtube vid. Both the manual and widget method produce the same result. When laying-out, the placeholder boundaries bare no relevance to the actual position of the embedded video, therefore when I preview the page it's either cropped or off-centre (with black vertical stripes on each side).
Am I missing a fundamental step or is something amiss?
