I'm missing something very simple here, aren't I?! Publishing Help Please!

Okay, so I am using A2 hosting. Nameservers are transferred. I exported my site(built by Xara) to local disc. It all tests out beautifully on all browsers. So I publish through FTP and nothing shows up on my domain? I logged into Cpanel and I see my files, but I they do not show up when I go to the domain directly. Not even if I specifically type out: www.mydomain.com/index.htm or www.mydomain.com/contact.htm etc.. etc..

Any ideas? I think I am missing something very simple. This is my 1st web site in several years, so I'm a little rusty.

You might not be publishing to the correct sub directory. Most web hosting companies want you to publish in a specific sub folder, often public_html, htdocs, something like that.

Are you publishing your files through Xara? Or are you using a third party (not Xara) FTP program?

If you are publishing through Xara's built in FTP program and if you need to publish your site to a specific sub-folder, then enter the subfolder where shown in the attached but substitute the folder name for the one supplied by your web hosting company.

You might also check with the support at your web host to see if they can see your files and if they are or are not where they should be.

Often times if your files are in the wrong folder the web host can move them for you.
