    Default create gradient

After searching 5 pages of "create gradient" results I found no use of the word "gradient". Does Xara call it some thing else? How do you create a simply "Gradient"?

Is "Gradient" not offered by Xara but can be accomplished by working from the back end, creative?

you need linear fill [as opposed to flat fill]

plus you also have circular and other types available with the fill tool

    Hi Amerifax, welcome to TalkGraphics.

The word gradient isn't used often, it is more often simply referred to as a linear fill.

Select an object within your drawing then click on the Fill Tool, it looks like a can of paint. Click and drag to apply a linear fill. If the shape you created still has the initial black color the linear fill will be white to black. You can apply any color to either end of the fill handle, you can add addition fill points as well.

you can also do similar with the transparency tool to make a ramp to 100% alpha, but whereas you can add transparency points you can only have one colour with this tool

[the fill tool does not do alpha]
