Java Script for Browser to Zoom In and to Zoom Out ?

You've probably seen web pages that have a Magnifying glass with a "+" or a "-". The user clicks on them and they zoom in or out in increments.

A client has some folks that don't know what a middle-mouse scroll button is used for in a browser.

I'd like to make some magnifying glass icons to serve as placeholders for the java script.

If the user has resized/rescaled their browser window, is there a way for a page to resize/rescale itself so it will fit in the browser window and not have to be scrolled?

I have been asked to created a multipurpose timeline document. It would be used as a print document and as a web page. The print size is 17x11 inches.

If possible, I would like to make sure that if being viewed in a browser and the user zooms-in or scrolls to look at a detail, they could have a button that would get them back to a view where the entire document can be seen (similar to Xara's zoom-to-page tool).

Is this possible?

Attached is what I have come up with so far using links to anchors.

-The ViewAll button links to the large page-sized rectangle that serves as the colored background of the page. What I wish it could do is perform an auto-resize instead.

-The other buttons with years denoted on them link to the rectangle representing each year on the timeline; their purpose is the move the view to a particular time frame.

No PDFs I don't believe are an option because I want to use popups for keymilestone dates and detailed descriptions ... unless PDF can pro

I am not sure I understand how to integrate and publish with Xara.

john--no not personally. but then i also don't use xara for sites.

i did do the overall design of a website that the coder used it. all it is is a fancy lightbox. perhaps i'll pick it up and see what it takes to incorporate it.
