    Default Page within a page

    Hi all,
Is it possible to have page within a page?

i,e what I would like to do is have the main index page, with navbar and headings etc,
then have a placeholder which would display page 1(the home page)
then using the navbar to go to page 2(contact page) which would be displayed in the same placeholder.
The idea being the index once loaded would be static and only the placeholder would need to be reloaded.

I understand that it can be done using iframes but trying to line everything up is beyond me.

    I'm using WDMX Premium

    Many Thanks for your time
    Rob

    BTW
I have tried this using layers which works but find it limited to what can be done
and don't think it is the way to go.

    Cheers

    Hi Rob

It's possible (with iframes) but not good for SEO. Google will only see the first page.

    Hi Drwyd,
    but not good for SEO
So not the way to go then, I would never have thought of that.

I have attached a WDMX file of what I'm trying to achieve, I have removed most of the data to keep the file small.
The problems with this method is
1, I can not add a photo slideshow to a layer (stock layer)
2, The Home button on the navbar is always highlighted
    3. If I turn off auto close popup (stock layer) I end up with a close cross in the top right hand corner.

    I'm learning by the minute.

    Thanks
    Rob

That's better but still not good. The search engines can see your content but the problem is that it's all lumped into one file. With separate files you can make them more focused on a particular subject. If for example someone types "camper roof fitters" into a search engine then it will look for the most relevant matches for that query. A rival page (and there will be many) that is focused on that subject will preferred by the search engines over one the just briefly mentions it. With separate pages you can concentrate on each part of the camper business and improve your traffic. There is much more to SEO but that's why a single page is a bad idea.

    Thanks Drwyd,
Will take on board what you've said, I'm now redesigning taking off the layers and creating separate pages.

    Cheers for the help
    Rob
