Problems with placeholders and code in new MX version

Has anyone else encountered problems with javascript that was working fine in XWD7 but now will not work or is acting funky?

I had several different bits of code in placeholders in my XWD7 site and after I updated to the new MX version, some of these went haywire.

Specifically:

on page load popup
add this-widget
Cloud Tint Zoom Gallery
(funny thing with this is that I have three instances of this gallery on the page and only one went nuts)

MX will not tolerate underscores in the code.
