    Question downloaded web designer 7 .. my clipart gallery in Xara X1 is not working

    Hello

    My Xara X1 clipart gallery doesn't want to display anymore.

    The only thing I have done different is purchased and downloaded
    the web designer 7 (not sure if that matters)

    Note: All the other galleries in X1 are working fine.

    ===========================================

    When I click at the top on the clipart gallery in the Xara X1
    All named files are displaying ok

    Error Message Received when trying to open one: Failed to locate index for "..."

    ============================================

    I've also Tried viewing c:/ Program Files Xara Clipart Files
    ... everything is listed fine
    Pictures do display if I click on them here
    but won't come into the program itself

    Also tried re-installing the program from the cd and nothing

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I have Web Designer 7 Premium installed on the same machine I have Xara X¹ installed on and have no problems with the clipart.

    Are the Xarainfo subfolders still intact on your system? Please see the attached image.

    Which version of Windows are you using X¹?

    Hello Bill .. thanks for replying

    It looks like everything is intact , the same as your image

    I'd include a picture, but I'm not sure how to attach it.

    As for the version, it says:
    Xara X1.1d cd Aug 23 2004

    Windows Internet Explorer 8

    Thinks but I was asking about the version of Windows.

    If it is the same machine you originally installed X¹ I would assume it is XP.

    You mentioned you have already performed a reinstall of Xara X¹ which would have been my next suggestion.

    Have you tried using the Disc Clipart... button?

    Something that caught me off guard in the past is the dialog wasn't looking at the Clipart.

    Hello

    I am using XP which is the same machine the program was originally installed on.

    The Disc Clipart button is not doing anything either.
    Not sure what else to try.

    What does this mean?
    Are you saying that clicking the 'Disc clipart...' button fails to even load the 'Add folder to gallery' dialogue box?

    Hello

    I'll explain better what is happening:

    In the program, I used to be able to go
    into the clipart gallery and open any image
    without depending on the cd to be in.

    What happens now (without the cd in)
    is it displays the folders,
    but each folder gives the error message I listed in the above note.
    =================================================

    But, when the cd is put in,
    I click on the "Disc Clipart" button,
    and I can
    open any image and bring them onto the page, ...it works perfect.

    Once the cd is taken out,
    the images are gone,
    and I get the error message again.

    Note: I have tried using the "Add" button with the cd in
    but gives the same results.
    ==========================================

    Basically, ...

    the files work when the cd is in,
    but not once it is taken out.

    I'd like to get it back to the original way
    where it doesn't depend on me putting
    the cd in every time I wanted to view a clipart.

    Hope that helps

    I'm confused.

    Are you able to use Windows Explorer and view the contents of the Clipart folders on your hard drive and not the CD?

    Have you tried using the Disc Clipart button to access the folders on your hard drive?

    Xara X¹ offers the option to copy the clipart from the CD to your hard drive or to access it from the CD. When you did the reinstall which option did you select?

    What same results? You still haven't helped me out by answering the question.

    To repeat what Bill said, use Disc Clipart button to access the folders on your hard drive.

    ok , I'm sorry, my error ..

    I've been trying to access them through the cd

    I've done as mentioned and accessed through the files through the hard drive
    and it did work.

    Sorry as I misunderstood the instructions
    and didn't catch them until the last note.

    Thanks again for all your Great Help and patience !!!
