Menu style Web designer 7 premium

I'm using a navbar in the template 1 pack. I created a site and navbar. It works ok.
But I can't seem to be able to change the font, style , etc. in the navbar.
I go to the menu style section in the navbar , i do the changes, click OK and NOTHING changes...

Any suggentions ???

Thanks Sledger, that did the trick, but it's strange that the menu style in the navbar doesn't work.
I prefer the way you do it

Think the menu style option only applies to any "sub menus" in the nav bar that you might create.
