Exporting

Carl all versions of Xara applications are written for 32-bit Windows but work equally well on 64-bit systems.

I have Windows 7 64-bit on one of my laptop computers and all the Xara applications work very well on that system.

I asked if the CMX file type was in the export list to see if the CMX filter was registered correctly. When the filter does not register itself correctly it usually does not show in the export list.

Bill I have opened a ticket with support. Maybe they can tell me what is wrong with the filter. Is there a way to check the filter to see if it is corrupt? I have used this feature before and it worked perfect, don't know what has happened. When Export is clicked it opens a pop up to where you can pick just about any format you want, cmx 5 and 6 are both there. I just tried a sgv. and it worked, but it is not workable in cdr. matter of fact it won't even open it. It worked in PDF but again it is not workable in cdr. All the other filters work fine, it's just this one that is giving me a problem and I am sure it is simple when a solution can be found.

Xara Support will need to answer your question. I cannot find an external filter for CMX which probably means it is built into P&GD6.

If it were an external .dll file it could be manually registered.

Hi Carl, just to get back to file exporting for Corel Draw have you tried AI or EPS both these two formats export as vectors. I haven’t got Corel Draw on my system but I’m sure that Corel Draw imports EPS and AI (it was just a thought) hope it all comes good for you

Yes I can export both files but still are not workable in corel. I just finished a new drawing in Xara and triec the cmx 6 one more time and guess what, it worked. Go figure. Had all that trouble and all of a sudden it worked. It could be that my other drawing was corrupt.

Same version I have Carl. What is not workable in CD when you use an .eps or .ai file?
