How do I make a JPEG image logo transparent?

exactly what i was thinking but i remembered what a revelation it was when i did learn how to do it, can import export and do the thing in under a minute these days, i also believe their are some small stand alone progs that can do it for you out their but can't remember the name....

edit, did you by chance remove the text, do the image and then re do the text? as the font looks slightly different?

oh yh never thought of that - i did do the image then typed the words - spose if he wants different font could always chop it off and retype in desired font :-)

Well, between asking for help at Xara-Users and TalkGraphics I'd say the OP has done jolly well from all accounts. Hopefully he will see how crazy simple it is to create the logo in Xara Web Designer (the software HE has) in the first place.

oh sorry my mistake and i wasnt sure i was allowed to mention the other forum on here - so in hindsight yes i should of replied where i got the image from - sorry :-(

People. PLEASE help. I can't find anyone to do this for me and every time I try to make my logo transparent on GIMP it looks stupid.. All deformed and what not... Here's the logo if anyone is kind enough to make it transparent for me.. that is if you're good enough for something this complex.. Thanks.
