    Welcome to TalkGraphics Maarten

    Your English is fine.

Sorry, but I do not like websites with music I cannot turn off. I will leave a site with music or with a video that starts when the page loads.

Put the website in a frameset with a 1px top frame which plays the music, or you could use iFrames

But, like Gary, I wouldn't visit the site

I try not to learn how to do this so that I can tell the customer the truth. I absolutely hate autostart music as do most of the people I know. I can see there will be occasions where the customer wants it and the tutorial above is good.

I've not tried this yet but it should be possible to build a single page site (index.html) with the music that has an iframe containing the main site (index.htm). This would effectively give you two versions of the site. One with and one without music - controlled by simple linking. It would play havoc with your SEO tough

Edit: The default with the naming convention above will be music on. If you switch it round it will be better for SEO (and fewer visitors will leave ) The reason this works is that index.html is always looked for (when the file is not specified with the domain name) before index.htm.
