    Default Blur section of image

Is it possible to blur sections of an image?

I want to do this with scans of legal documents
like my driver's lic. I want the photo to be in focus but the
    sensitive info blurred.

    Thanks,

just draw a box [or any shape] over the bit you want to hide - group it with photo - you may need to make a bitmap copy if its for the web

if you want a blurred effect - you can apply blur to the box before grouping with a live effect

I would draw a rectangle the same size as the area you wish to blur. Set the outline and fill to none.

From the Arrange menu, select Create Bitmap Copy. Set the color depth to True Color. Hold down the Shift key and press Create.

With the bitmap copy selected, switch to the Photo Tool. Set the Blur/Sharpen slider setting to -300.

The slider only goes to -100. But you can highlight the text and change the amount to -300.

Use the mask feature and use any of the drawing tools to draw your shape on the mask layer, then use the photo tools to blur the section of the photo you have masked.

xdp6 Blur or Pixelate part of an image

    I did a mini-tutorial about that

    http://xaradesigner.co.uk/blur_image/

Credits to Gary for reminding me that you can edit the blur effect up to 300 or down to -300

That's a great Mini tutorial Frank. Thanks for taking the time to do that. The first method in your tutorial is exactly what I meant in my post above.

    Thank you friends

I was using a tutorial to take apart and reassemble a Toshiba Satellite and the note at the top of the page said "This will take you about an hour, whereas this guide took me about 3 hours to write..." and I really sympathised with him!

But tutorials are, if you have the time, fun to write
