Business Cards & Letterhead Templates...

I've been trying for two days now (off & on, mostly off because of errors!) to download the template for business cards and letterhead that is supposed to be available to DP7 but I've tried several times to get it to down load and it keeps giving me errors. I just checked the CD to see if they were available on it, and I honestly have no idea what files it would be. Can anyone please help me with this?

Coleen those templates should be installed in the following path when you install from the CD.

C:/Program Files/Xara/Xara_Designer_Pro_7/Clipart/businesspack folder.

You cannot directly access those files from the CD.

Okay - then how do I get those files? What are they called? Where are they? I can NOT get them to download when clicking on the Help/Download Templates & Pan Studio; it tries to open the "Content Pak" but that just sits there and "works" and never downloads. First, are the files I want even included in the Content Pak, and second how do I get them to download? Is there somewhere else I can go to get these files? This is just not working and I REALLY need these templates!

Coleen install direct from the CD those templates will be installed for you.

I am very leary about re-installing DP7 (other than the errors from trying to do the download) it is working perfectly fine. I really don't want to do a re-install of the entire program if I can avoid it. I'd honestly prefer to just install the templates directly, if at all possible. All I have is the DVD. I don't have a separate key to go with it (although it is probably the same as my DP7 download version key?) so I am concerned about it overwriting data that I have created and have currnely in my DP7 files. Is there no way to just install direct from CD?

You can look in the path:
C:\Users\your user name\Documents\MAGIX Downloads\Installationsmanager
Look for a file that has the word "content" within it, and with the same icon as XDP7.
Delete that file.

Try to download the content pack using the Help menu again.

Otherwise you will need to install XDP7 from the CD to get the full content.

Thanks Bill, deleting that file seems to be working (at least now I am not getting an error that DP7 has stopped working and needs to shut down!) It is downloading, but unfortunately, due to the poor Internet quality we get here in Belize, will take 4 hours to do so. (sigh) At least I won't have to worry (hopefully) about it overwriting my named color and bitmap fill files. Thank you!

Glad that I could help.

If my memory is correct the download is around 600+ MB. If things should go wrong with the download you will need to delete the partial file before attempting to download again.

Yup - darn #$%@! internet went out as I was donwloading and that is what was causing it to lock up. I deleted the file and I guess I'll try agian toinght - late at night, when most of the time we get a better connection. Thanks for your help, it is appreciated.
