    xdp6 Paint Design: Killisti

    Hey peeps!

I'm sorry I've been away so long, I've been busy with life, and then serious computer issues, but I'm back now.

This design took me twice as long as normal, not only because it's twice the work, but because of the computer issues I've already mentioned above.

This design is for the Chevoret Camaro SS `10, but it can be applied to other cars as well. This is the first time I've done pinstriping and it proved to be quite challenging, it was not as simple as I thought it would be. The original images are rather large, too larger to really use the detail int he full size image. The posted thumbnails are for the full image, but the linked album shows the snapshots of the key sections to show car in more detail.

    Please feel free to comment.

    Thank you.

    All looks very professional, Madalynne.
    And I mean that genuinely.

I remember trying to do your last tutorial. I didn't get as good a result as others.
Might have another go, if you do another one, but, not if layers are involved.

I just like to draw on the page and push objects to the back and front, if I need to.

Thank you Rik, I do try to have the images look as good as I possibly can.

The tutorial was done with the layers because that is how I work when creating this images. I use to just draw or create at first too, but then one day I started working on the design of my late brother's Mini Truck that he had been working on but never finished the truck (due to his death) so I took it upon myself work on his truck (in xara). Long story short, the use of layers was not in question, it was clearly needed, the drawing of Matthew's truck still isn't finished yet and I'm up to 167 layers and counting. Layers make complex drawings, illustrations, or files more manageable. The tutorial I did last years was a stripped down version the Mustang, layers were the only way to keep the rendering from becoming overwhelming.

You are welcome you do the tutorial again without layers, but I suspect you will soon realize the need for layers. Let me know how it works for you, please. = )

    Hi Madlynne.

I've been told by Steve, as well, that layers is the way to cope with complex drawings.
So, it's not a question of disbelief.

I suppose it shows that I haven't done anything really complex, yet?!

Doing your tutorial, again, might prove worthwhile but I seem to remember that part way through, I just got fed up with layers.
Not your fault - it's mine.

Thanks for the feedback Madalynne and thanks for the PM as well, Steve.
