Yes Rik, use a darker background, that'll do the trick.

OK. I thought I would add a reflection as one of the seggestions.

And, (Bob is now telling me as well) it seems that I will need to have a go at a darker background.

Later I'll give that a go as well and see how it looks.

Rik I think the light edge of the two right hand shaped are still a bit too bright.

OK. Tried to darken the two edges on the two right hand shapes, but it's difficult to darken them too much.

Looking better Rik. I noticed you removed the light outline also which had also bothered me. I do understand that darkening the edge in question was difficult. From what I am seeing here you must have agreed with some of my suggestions to some extent. I like the maroon background and the way you worked the gold into it. So here's to you Rik, well done

Very keen eye, Larry.
I too see things like that. Whether it's art or not and whether you should worry about things like that, it just didn't look right to me.
It had bothered me from the start and it's to do with the 3D tool.
I could have drawn over the edges but decided to use a bit of feathering to get rid of it.

Well I am late into this thread but I have to say Bravo! The dark brown background you have chosen is perfect. One thing you may want to try is rather than having the logo dead center in the image maybe moving it more to one side (Take a look at some of the discussions we have been having in the Xara Xone tutorial thread) All in all I really like what you have done.
