xdp6 Submarine Art - WWII Tench Class Diesel Boat

This is a drawing I recently did that pretty closely approximates my Dad's boat - the USS Toro. A 20 year submarine force veteran myself, I followed in my father's footsteps as did my youngest brother and his son - who is currently serving.
A tribute to those crusty WWII Submarine Veterans, we lost 52 boats during the timeframe of that war and over 3000 men. These boats are a far cry from the ones I served on and those are primitive in comparison with the new Virginia Class Submarines. (I haven't taken the time to digitally reproduce the Toro patch yet).

The submarine still gets some tweaks every now and then. Maybe I should add some rusty, and crusty hull areas to make this more photo-realistic. Any suggestions - or leads to tutorials for weathering this drawing will be appreciated.

    Thanks for looking and commenting!

Looks great Randy. I think your drawing works well as a tribute to the Submariners that served on that class.

That looks really good Randy. I really like submarines and rockets. In fact I was an amateur rocketeer when I was younger, long before there were commercially available kits.

Nice work Randy. It make quite a refreshing change to see a submarine amongst all the cars and planes, not to say that those don’t deserve credit too because some of them are magnificent.
I hope you don’t mind but I squeezed a perspective on it just to see what it looked like.!!
Oh well once again great work, looks good.
