Default How to quickly resize a photo

When I open a digital photo in Xara, it normally opens to a default size of 4288px W by 2848px H. As a result, only a small portion of the photo is actually viewable on the screen. However, I want to view it in a smaller size so I can see the entire photo. For example, if I want to quickly resize each photo to 700px W (and keep the aspect ratio), how can I quickly do so in Xara? I've tried manually entering values in the H and W boxes on the toolbar, but the photo never resizes. I always end up having to select a corner of the photo and manually drag the corners to get the photo to a size that I want. Doing this for a bunch of photos is tedious.

Is there a quicker way that I can do this resizing? Other graphics programs I have used allowed me to enter a value for W or H, select to maintain aspect ratio, and then click the mouse and the photo instantly resizes. Viola! Does Xara allow me to do the same?

you need the photo selected when you enter the W value and then you need to press return

you can do this for multiple selections

make sure the padlock is on to keep aspect ratio

    Hi Txusa

You can also use this option if you want to re-size automatically.

Thank you both. Can't believe I was not smart enough to hit the Enter key after entering the value. Been a long day, so much for a college education I also will be using the preset feature under Options per Drwyd. Forgot it was there.

Don't you just hate it when that happens?
