    Default Pet peeve

Programmes that put shortcuts on my desk top. Adobe reader just did an update and added one to my desktop. I am continually cleaning them off. Polite programmes ask!

I agree. I also hate programs that want to put their own search bar on. Sometimes they ask and if I say no the prog. does it anyway.

Never give up. You will never fail, but you may find a lot of ways that don't work.

Yep, that gets my vote too (both of the above)!

I really hate programs that you have paid for that try to add a search bar. I mean, where do they get off doing that??????

The shortcut thing I don't mind too much but those bloody search bar things are damn annoying.

I agree. Shitty iTunes is another - it's a program update, I'm not sure adding a link to a desk is an update.
I'd start a revolution, if I could get up in the morning.

Not only that - when all you want is iTunes, you get bloody Bonjour and all of the iPod updater suite of crap without any option not to install it, including rubbish that goes into your startup defaults registry settings. Like the Google update service.... Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh

    sorry, losing control here

Well I'm leaving the Church of Apple shortly... fed up with its buggy software and unreliable phones... going to give Android a whirl.

I use Firefox, if you go to view/bars you can close the unwanted bar.
what angers me is the ICQ search that Firefox tries to force down your throat. I delete it as a search engine, and next time I open FF it's there in my face again.
