Indeed. You went the extra 10 yards, gwpriester. This will help me. I will try and discover on my own how to "vector trace" before I need it again. Thank you.
The tools are there and this was a pretty straightforward logo.
Glad we could help.

Hi again
sorry, I thought Bill might get back.. and I was busy..
the way to get your 0a0a0a logo black to 000000 is to select the logo go to the photo tool and then the photo contrast slider, and slide it to the right [black]
with your logo, this removes the edge smoothing though, which might be a problem - Gary's solution is smoover

Steve the jpg has HSV settings of 0 0% 3.9% (the cast you mention) by right clicking and selecting Set Contone Dark Color the settings will become 0 0% 0% the same as the black used in the .xar file provided. Placing the Contone Black jpg over the provided vector objects it is indistinguishable from the black rectangle. Please see attached image.

not happening for me in XPG7 Bill - it stays at 0a0a0a [0 -0 - 3.9] - which version program are you using?

Hmmm...XDP7 seems to revert to the original bitmap when it was resized and placed on the vector rectangle.
Since that is the case, we simple select the rectangle and use the eyedropper to sample the imported .jpg to match the logo.
