    Default swf load screen

    hello,

i made a swf file from xara that is 1.6 megs. when it comes up there is a white screen (on a black background) until the file loads. is it possible to use xara to have an image (the first image) come up while the file loads?

this can be viewed at www.ehrlum.com

    thanks much.

    Hi Greg

Very attractive site, by the way.

Xara is not the best application for creating a slide show. I would try a utility like svBuilder You can create a Flash based slide show with transitions and effects, export the slide show as a Flash SWF file, then use a place holder to add it to your website. Flash Slide Show Maker is another utility to consider.

    Hi,

I have created an SWF file using VisualSlideShow Program, but cannot figure out how to place it on a page in MX8 and have it do its thing when you mouse over?
I seem to have got lost in the process of getting the right code in the right place.
Have looked at several different thing on the WEB, but have not found a step by step demo.
Is there anyone that could explain the process or point me to a demo.

CHH Create a rectangle the same size as your Flash movie.

Select the rectangle and open the Website Properties > Placeholder menu.

Click the Browse button next to Replace with Flash. Locate and select your .swf file and click Open (I thinks it open, whatever the operative option is). Click Apply then OK to close the dialog.

I believe the .swf file will start playing when the page is opened.

Actually, I just dragged and dropped a .swf file from the desktop onto the page and it works fine. Have you tried this?

Assuming it will play, how do you get it to work, just when you mouse over.
