I think the only way we are going to spot the problem is to see a file. Could you make a copy of your .web/.xar file and delete enough pages from it to enable you to upload it. ?

I have made a copy and removed all but 2 pages and the .web file is still 54,000 KB
You might have to delete the photos/graphics

I thought I suggested this but I must have keyed it then with my very shot attention span gone to another page.
You can upload your .web file to www.yousendit.com (a free service). Send the file to yourself.
You will receive a link, once the file has been uploaded. The file remains on the server for 7 days.
Then post the link here and we can download your file and have a look.

here is the file. On the contacts page there is a working link but on the links page the link in the middle of the page does not work.
OK Two things. Your photos are 1400dpi which is why your file size is so large. I optimized the photos and the document saves to 74K vs 53 MB.
Your sample link is on the Page Background layer. Cut it and paste it onto the MouseOff layer and it will work.

Thank you that has sorted everything. I thought I had read that WD has an auto optimise feature so I will investigate.
Yeah, it will save you a lot of hard drive space.
There is a Utilities menu command Optimize all JPEGs. But you can do this on a photo by photo basis as well. Right click on a photo and select Optimize Photo. This way you can optimize a PNG image.
