xdp6 Is there a limit to the amount of layers?

    Greetings all.

I'm using XWD Pro 6. I've created a page that requires an extensive number of layers; (24to be exact).

The problem I'm finding is that the 'Page & Layers Gallery' only show my layers up to 17 deep. The gallery is not allowing me to scroll further down to see the complete list. I've expanded the gallery vertically as far as my screen will allow but I still have the same issue.

    Any suggestions?

    Thnx

I would suggest using less layers.

I wonder if this is similar to the Navigation Bar dialog which will not scroll after a certain number of pages.

What I have found and maybe this will work is click on the last visible layer and see if the next one down is revealed.

Other than that, I have not heard of a limitation on the number of layers.

I just created a document with 45 layers, so 17 is definitely not the limit if there is one, but when I created them no scrollbar appeared when they first layer dropped off the bottom, so I reduced the size of the xara window and then maximised it and now I have scrollbars in pinned or auto hide mode

i'd say that is a display bug

    Hello,

there is no limit to the amount of layers im WD6 or Designer Pro 6 (except for memory limitations).

@rafsgrafx: Does it help to minimise/ maximise the WD/ Designer window as beretgascon suggests? If not, please post the the example and a screenshot of your WD/ Designer window. I've tried various scenarios, but didn't end up with a jammed scroll.

Thank you all for your responses.

As requested by the last post, I've attached a screen shot. I suspect it's a glitch. When I initially created this file a while back, I recall not having this issue. I could scroll up and down the length of the gallery. I'll pursue this further.Click image for larger version.

Ah, I see. The Page & Layer Gallery of yours is far to LARGE for your desktop - that's the problem.

    There are two fast options:
    1. Choose via the menu "Window->Control bars...". Then press the "Reset"-button.
    2. Or dock the Page & Layer Gallery to the right of the Designer window.

Then the gallery will fit again and scrolling will work as expected (and hide nothing).

Optionally you can resize the gallery by hand, but that will take some time.

Thumbs up Re: Is there a limit to the amount of layers?

Ah! . . . works like a charm! So simple; right under my schnoz all the time. It's all coming together.

    I thank you.

    Great group. Great program.

    Best holiday wishes to all.
