Default Innovative Way to Create Light Beams/Starburst??

    http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...hunderbolt.png

Anyone have an innovative approach to creating the starburst effect like the effect in the image above?

I've been racking my tiny brain for a non-painstaking way to pull this off. Blend tool? Clone, rotate, repeat?

Any ideas or experience would be much appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi Mike.

I used the QuickShape tool and created a star. Changed the Stellation radius to about 6 and the Offset to 0. Then changed the number of sides to 50.
Cloned this new shape and changed the number of sides to 40 and rotated a little to suit.

In my drawing, I have left the lines brighter so that you can see them but you can easily make them more transparent.

Well, that's my method but I bet there are hundreds more!

Stellation! I'll admit I didn't know about that feature, but I'll be making great use of it going forward. I appreciate you taking the time to create the example as well. Have a terrific evening!
