    Default Winter scene

I started out without a clear idea of how this drawing was going to evolve and as I played with the depth and the trees and trelis the scene began to develop and I decided to add the snow and turn it into a winter scene.

    Looks very nice Frances.

One thing though, the back arch of the trelis does not seem to make the connection on the left most side.

I agree with Bill on this one Frances, but otherwise a nice job.

    Thank you both.

Bill: you caught a mistake I made, the arch was completely there but I had a semi transparent snow layer that I left in the wrong order in the stack. This drawing has two layers of snow, one in front and one that should have been almost at the back this snow layer caused the shaded area of the trelis arch to blend with the background. Once I moved this layer to where it should have been I made a slight adjustment to the colour of the sky. Moving the snow layer back also brought out the depth in the image even more.

Excellent job Frances. I really like how your trees and stone came out. Great effect on the ground and blending the snow on the ground. Very nicely done.

Thank you Guy and Paul! My apologies for not replying sooner, I have been on the run today. I am still looking at this and seeing things that I may change.
