Default How to scale from the center?

    Hey all!

I am a completely new PSPx4 user, been using it as a raster bitmap editor for xara at my full time graphics design job. I am unsuccessfully trying to find a way to scale layers towards the center, like in xara when you hold shift down during a scale option. Is it even an option in pspx4? It's strange, because GIMP couldn't do it either.

    Thanks!

When you duplicate a layer in the Layers Palette, you can resize it by using D (Deform Tool) on the keyboard for (or K for the Pick Tool)* and dragging on one corner node to resize down.
Unfortunately it doesn't work the same way as in Xara, holding the Shift key doesn't do the job.

Best to grab a corner node, top right will do, push it inwards to the size you want, it won't be centred, but if you then Cut it and Paste it back. It will by default always be centred.

Easier to do this in Xara, my next most favourite program :-)

    * D for Deform is ok for most things, but for anything vector, like text, use K.

Just had another thought, although this might not be what you are looking for.
You could use Effects>Reflection Effects> Feedback.
    Opacity 100
    Intensity 37 (experiment)
    Horizontal + Vertical 0.
This would not give you any layers, but it's a good effect.
