Default How do I draw a series of straight, connected lines

I know this sounds ridiculous, but I didn't see in the help and cannot figure it out. I assume there's some button combination I'm missing? All I know is I can connect a series of freehand lines no problem, but the straight line tool is not consistent operation with the freehand tool.

    Thanks.

Use the Shape Editor Tool rather than the Straight Line Tool.

Specifically, select the Shape Tool, then make sure that 'Make Line' is selected on the toolbar. It's the way I draw pretty much everything, plot out the points first, then drag the lines into arcs, then fine tune with the control handles.

Thanks guys. I have to apologize. I had "search previous results" from a previous search and so came up very short on information, plus the way of approaching these things is of a slightly different mind set than us CAD guys usually think.
