Bevel Tool problem

In the attached picture, I have detailed the problem I get when using the Bevel tool.

Basically, I can create a bevel on a shape.
Adjust everything to do with the bevel, including the 'Light Angle'.
Then, if I deselect the shape, and select it again, the control handle to be able to adjust the 'Light Angle' now doesn't show up.

I call it the 'control handle' and Xara call it the 'arrowead'.
But, I'm sure you get the idea?!

I've never been able to get the light angle doo-whopper to show up again...so I use the drop-down box and use the slider to adjust the angle.

Come to think of it I have encountered that a few times too, but, didn't think anything of it because like mwenz I always use the sliders too.

I keep trying this, but when I go back and click the object with the Bevel tool selected, the light direction arrow DOES come back.

I even created other objects...deleted them, etc. and then came back to my original beveled object and the light direction arrow is there.

I'll post again if I can make it fail.

Seems to be a bug introduced in version 7. All previous versions I have display the light angle arrow any time the beveled object is reselected with the bevel tool.

Many thanks for that Bill. It's a very annoying bug, for me.

Mike & Larry: Adjusting the slider is not very good for me. Because the change does not take effect until you release the slider. So, I find myself adjusting a bit the seeing the change by releasing the slider. Then changing it a bit again etc...
If the arrowhead is showing, then moving the slider is 'live'. In other words, the effect is changing as you move the slider. But, then, why would you move the slider when you have the arrowhead that can be moved anyway.
Hope all that made sense!

But, for me, I like to move the arrowhead, so that I can see the light angle I want and personally, I find that I can control it much easier that way.

By the way. I have tried this on a Windows 7 PC and the problem exists there also.

I didn't know that it was a but until the TG members said that they were experiencing the same problem.
Then, when someone like Bill comes on to tell us that it's a bug, then that's good enough for me.

I can see it happening too in XP&GD7 [but it does not always disappear 'straight-away']
