Question about image on Ex-Associate 2 Website Themes

I was wondering how the image up on the title bar is faded out on one side. I replaced the original pic with one of my own and the effect is on that one also. Where do I go to change the way the fade is working. I've spent quite a bit of time taking the template apart to try to understand it, but with no luck so far.

Once you select the pic, select the transparency tool and you will fine it has a linear transparency.

Thanks ... it was staring me right in the face the whole time. I kept looking at the photo tools and opacity wasn't an option but I knew there had to be a way.
