Transition effect for repeating objects not updating

I can't seem to get the transition effect I apply to the original object to take on all repeating objects. Is this an issue?

It's the "SAVE 20%" button on top of this page
When I apply this effect (sliding in from the right) to the original button it does not update the repeating copies on the other pages.

Does anyone have an answer to this questions? Just wonder if I'm taking a wrong approach here or in fact effects do not update period.
