    Default Text as shape

    Hi

I use xtreme purely for fun and have completed quite a few tutorials and been very pleased with the finished projects, so my thanks to all who write them, I even mananged to create a few logos for friends. However, if there is a rank beginer class then thats about my standard so my apologies if my question turns out to be a simple one. What I am trying to do is create a name in text but as a heart shape. Not inside the shape, but for the name to actualy make the shape of a heart. Any suggestions on if it can be done and if so how would be most welcome. Thank You

    yes you can do this

if you look on the arrange menu you will see an item 'fit text to curve'

if you have text and a heart shape you can select both and click 'fit text to curve' and the text will be moved to follow the outline of the heart - you can then ctrl+click the heart shape and make it no colour to hide it

    that's the theory

in practice, the trick is to get it all lined up right, takes a bit of planning and a heart shape has some tight corners - the text is still editable in the text tool after it is fitted to the 'curve' [shape outline] so you can tweak it
