Default Halftone effect using Alien Skin Snap Art & Xara

I have long been a fan of the halftone effect used in comic books. So naturally I was attracted to Alien Skin’s Snap Art. Attached is a graphic made with a combination of Alien Skin’s Snap Art and Xara DP Pro 7 (earlier versions will also work). Snap Art isn’t free, but you can download a time-limited trial to work with, if this sort of style interests you. The .xar file is also attached so you can examine the effects and how I achieved them in detail (it's not complicated).

I prefer Photoshop's Color Halftone filter. It is the most convincing approximation of the CMYK halftone dots. The attached are 12 and 10 dot settings. It is a simple one click operation.
