    Default We-ired Sailing

Just like the Rod Stewart song of the similar name----or not.
A drawing that hasn't turned out as I thought it might so I finished it as far as its going and am now looking at something else. Sometimes things don't turn out as you think they might, but at the same time lead onto other things so we'll see what pops up next.

I like it very much. This is a sort of concept image I would be able to create. Very appreciated. lupen

That is beautiful! I like the way you captured human movement within the tree.

Great drawing Derek! Love the way the trunk and bough make the ships figurehead. Do you remember the stars? well a real 5* drawing.

I had occasion to remark recently about masters of Xara and its vector based bitmap fill capability - and you are assuredly one of the best - five more stars -

Wow man your work is just more than a challenge for me, only people who try to draw anything and faced all the obstacles that everything brings can value this outstanding drawing.
IT IS ABSOLUTELY F A N T A S T I C, just trying to draw the grass is enough to understand how difficult it is.
Thank you very much for sharing it.

Thanks for all the enthusiastic responses. I went back for a second look at the image and lowered the contrast and tinkered about a little, so here is the slightly refined version.
Apart from the lowered contrast and slight colour shift I've added a vague shadow underneath.
