Adding nodes to shapes.

Please see the attached .xar of a simple random blob.

I'm using the Shape Tool to manipulate this shape but it will only let me add nodes on a few small sections of the line (i.e. the mouse icon will change to an arrow pointer symbol).

Why is this? Can I not add nodes at any point I want?

if you have the shape selected then shape tool should let you add a node anywhere along the outline with a left-click.. - you do need to make sure the cursor is on the centre of the outline to get the arrow symbol, as nodes are 'placed' on the outline centre

Weird... I closed xara completely and now all is fine. Thanks Steve.
