And people wonder how they get trojan horse infections snooping on their data.

lol, yes but I scanned it and generally trojans come through cracks, this wasn't a crack, was a legit copy and I used a serial to activate it. Thanks for your concern though.

trojans these days, like most of that sort of bad stuff, come via social engineering - and downloading stuff that 'someone' put up on the web is a classic example of possible social engineering

scanning really doesn't mean that much, it can only check for what has already been established - what really counts is common sense, particularly verifying your sources

how do you know no rogue code has been injected?

I'd hate to find that someone reads this and thinks they should follow in your footsteps and then come to grief. There's never a need to download stuff from non-official sources.

I never recommend that anyone follow in my footsteps, I am a pro and do not have time to mess with a five hour download, for me time is money. However you are welcome to your opinions. Thx.

I am glad we are welcome to our opinion

mine is that you are not a pro - pros get the real thing; losers don't...

Wow, amazing maturity coming from a moderator. This thread was about the intensly frustrating/irritating process of activation, since the thread was allowed I posted my feeling about it and what i did to take care of the situation, yet you choose to insult me and call me a loser because I do something of my own choice. Nice job.

We all have off days. People talking about downloading software from bogus sites, don't tend to come across as being very professional, either. Your comments about activation should be noted by Xara/Magix, though.

nothing to do with maturity, nothing to do with insults, so you can leave the high moral ground where you found it...

anyone who cannot be bothered to go through the legit channels is, in a sense, a looser - sooner or later it will cause you grief...
