Button/text rollovers

Trying to create rollover buttons in Xara Pro which are essentially just text, the rollovers are working fine but instead of hiding the button below on the rollover state it is just placing the rollover state on top of the one below "the normal state", you can see a slight hint of the normal state. Is there a way to make Xara only show the rollover state on mouseover, my buttons are just text so it's fairly obvious that the normal state is still showing beneath the rollover.

It sounds like you don't need the MouseOver layer at all.

Just change the link colours.

Or, create your text on a rectangle that is the same color as your background. The rectangle will mask the mouse over state but give the appearance of a simple text button.

Thanks guys, for the help. It just seems odd that this rollover functionaltiy would work this way but I guess Gary's method is the way to go for me because I am not using standard web fonts for this navigation so text rollover color will not work.
