Default Xara file will not open after crash

While working on a drawing the file would not save (message - failed to save), then Xara DP7 crashed. The file disapeared from my hard drive. I restored the file with a utility. Now when I try to open file it says - Failed to read XAR file, Failed to read record buffer. Does anyone know how to fix this problem, or fix the file?? Thanks, Lew

Lew check the Xara backup folder which is under your username, it will be the AppData/Local/Xara/XtremePro/7.1/Backups folder.

Unless you disable automatic backups in the Utilities menu you should find copies of every document you have worked on within that folder.

You can also find the backup files under File > Open Recent > Backups...
Try opening the most recent (look at the time stamp) and if that file is corrupted, try the next one, etc.

Soquili, I was able to recover one of the files from the app data/backup folder. Now I'm back in business, thank you very much. Lew

Gary, all of the files under Open Recent were corrupted and would not open, thanks very much for your help. Lew
PS - I did recover part of the file using ExpandXar. Thanks again.
