    Default Remove background plugin

Used Xara since version 3 and now use Designer Pro. I work with photos and see that PhotoShop has several available plugins for removing the image background. It seems as popular as Xara is someone would make a plugin for this. I watched a PhotoShop user work with Topaz ReMask3.

why would xara want to make a plugin? - draw round the area you want to extract with the shape editor tool - just as easy if not easier than using topaz , which in any case is not free

While there are some very good Masking plug-ins that work well with Designer Pro, using the shape editor tool to clip out the background works very well, I have done a lot of this and it takes a bit of practice but it is possible to do an accurate job in a short time.

I agree with you both, but the PhotoShop pluging does an exceptional job on items such as hair. I've tried cutting out an image of a lady with her hair blowing in the wind and it's virtually impossible.

have you actually tried it - topaz remask3 will work with xara version 5 I have just installed and used it, I am not in a position to try it out on the latest version at the moment but is there anything stopping you?

Utilities menu | Options | Effects & Plugins tab | Setup button

Add the folder where Remask is installed. Remask will now appear in the Live Effects menu.
