How did you get the banner at the top to be animated?

May I ask what is the purpose of the initial page where a visitor must click the Enter button? I think people call this a "landing page".

I have seen this on a few sites and I simply move on to another site.

To me it seems to indicate hesitation or uncertainty on the part of the web creator. If they are not sure about their site why should I continue by clicking the Enter button?
