As I look down the list of pages, they are all different widths in the gallery, even though they are the same width on the actual page. Is there any significance to the thumbnails being different widths for different pages?

Ah, yes, that can be confusing. I think the thumbnail images are created to a maximum height and not a width. Hence the difference that you have so astutely observed. A page that is deeper will be thinner than one that is only a single screen.

I also think it has something to do with accommodating anything you have left on the pasteboard as they also appear to be included into the allocated width of view

I haven't got anything on the pasteboard, so it probably isn't that in my case. Gary thanks for the explanation. Kind of counterintuitive, isn't it. How I wish fatter meant thinner and taller real life!!!!!
