Can I use Google Translate?

Many sites use the Google translate feature.
Clicking a flag translates the complete site into a new language.
Can this be done in WD7?

I did check that thread but guess WD7/GT does not work nicely together with the special WD format. Having to make separate pages for different languages is a very time-consuming workaround.
I see a special Widget doing this but can't find it.

There is no special WD format for HTML, but it precisely positions the text according to what you have at design time, if you shange that on the HTML page, the positions are wrong.

WD makes design easy, but the HTML produuced is not designed for subsequent manipulation.

Thanks comments confirming my suspicion. WD7 has lots of nice features but some drawbacks like this.

For what you need you are probably correct.

However merely translating one language into another can be very dicey. Expressions and things that are culture specific can change a lot in translation and be at the very best silly.

Years ago, Braniff Airlines wanted to entice the wealthy Cuban population living in Florida but who did not like flying in an airplane, to just come to the airport and sit on the plane. At that time, all passenger seats were real leather.

The ad agency came up with an ad in English that was translated into Cuban Spanish. The headline in English was, Come Sit on Real Leather. The translation was Come Get Naked.

My point is, sometimes the easy way, is not always the best way.

Agree - this is how I put it on one of my sites (swedish):

If you use “Google Translate” you get a reasonable translation of all ASCII-text - even descriptions within fields and get a much better understanding of the material presented.
As a bonus you have quite a few laughs.
