    Default Another paint job

My second attempt at car paint by Madalynne, not great by any means but getting there with practice. It's not the colours you have trouble with but for different cars in different surroundings, what to set all the layers of saturation, contrast, brightness and so on. I suppose it's a matter of choice and seeing eventually which settings look the best but it's quite good trying all the different combinations. The cut out template, has Madalynne said, is most critical and that at the moment is true for me, until I get my new spectacles!

Never give up. You will never fail, but you may find a lot of ways that don't work.

    That looks pretty good.

I would check the transparency of the layers you are using for the paint colors - it looks like you still have the transparency set, when it's not needed.
As for the car reflections, you are correct - those settings will be determined by the over all source image. Also, the settings of these layers will ALSO be determined by the colors you pick for the car. Try to pick colors that will compliment the source images or work well with the background colors. You want the car paint to look like it not only belongs there, but looks like it really is there.

BTW, it's nice to see that the paint scheme for the Mustang works well with the VW. Nice choice. If I may make a suggestion, what about trying a different paint scheme? I'm sure you will come up with something cool. = ) I have faith in you.
