Broken links

I'm using WINDOWS 7, 64-BIT on HP dv7 laptop.
I attached 1 page of my 7 page web site. The page does not contain the modification I describe below.
I have several link buttons on the page to different pages and websites. They all work fine.
I want to change 1 link (Five's Forum) from Mainlands5.com/index.htm/ to their new site Mainlands5.com/.
I highlighted the link text on the button and clicked on the chain link icon and changed the link text. When I "Apply" the font turns from black to blue. When I do a page preview, and click on the Five's Forum link, it goes to the old link address.

I have a feeling i have my link layers mixed up but don't know what to do to correct it. Thought I'd ask before I mess up the entire page. Hope this is enough info. Thanks, Peter

Do not select the text with a text tool. Instead select the button with the Selector too and change the link.
