    Photo Bill?
Surely you're not suggesting that I go round there and take a picture?!
Joking aside, pictures and photos are what give me ideas.

The metallic sort of look was just my idea and his KRK sub-woofer is a plastic finish.
Very much like the link I posted earlier.

So, I suppose I was trying to create something a bit different and not to look exactly the same.

Here's the .xar file and anyone is welcome to show what they would put it on or next to and so on.
    Change the lighting etc.

As long as it's going to be something that we can all learn from.

Rik here is a quick modification of your work.

I rotated/flipped some of your objects to change the lighting then I made a duplicate and a bitmap copy. The bitmap copy was given some noise with the live effects tool and a transparency.

EDIT: I just noticed I did not change the shadow for the center of the speaker.

I was talking about these two areas. My fix isn't professional, but it should give you the idea what caught my attention.

    OK.

I think I have made the changes recommended.
    If I've understood!

I've not added any Live Effects as per Bill's recommendation yet.

Does it look any better or not?

I've noted two points on the right shadow. It would be a smooth corner, rather than jagged with your speaker, and the shadow will run up the wall but along the floor. I hope that makes sense. By the way, I really like the touch of blue that has been added to your background. Yes, it looks much better.

    Oops!

That'll teach me to work on that late last night!
Yup, the shadow should be going up the wall.
Didn't spot that on the dark background.

I will correct the shadow on the wall David.

    OK Guys and Gals.

I've done a bit more work on this and hopefully the shadow is now going up the wall.
Please bear in mind that I am trying to do this and trying very hard to resist the temptation to look at anything.
So, any observations from you are completely valid with me.

Initially I was trying to get the diaphragm correct but it developed into a bit more than that!
I did ask for your comments and I am most grateful for that and please let me have more!

How about on a light background and a light shiny floor?
    Does that look better?

They are both good. I like the blue version a little better, even though you can see banding on the wall which is probably caused by either/or the 24-bit color limitation / 255 blend stop limitation. Some Gaussian blur might fix that.
