    Default Shadow Effect

I create a square, 300px by 300px. I duplicate the square, resize to 200px by 200px. Highlight both, press Ctrl-F4 and remove the inside box. What I have left looks like a picture frame. Is there a way to shadow the inside area?(the part I cut out)

    Hi David,

Have your reconfigured your keyboard shortcuts? Ctrl+F4 closes the current document by default.

I think you may have meant Ctrl+4 which is slice shapes.

If you select the outer shape (frame) and bring it to the front then apply a shadow you will get something like the attached image.

And if one only wants the shadow to appear *inside* the frame, you can create a line that goes up say the left and across the top of the cut out, place it between the background and foreground layers and apply the shadow to the line.

    Take care, Mike

If you're looking to have a shadow only in the inside part of the frame, then copy the original 300 x 300 (CTRL+C).
Duplicate the square, reduce in size.
Cut the small square out and apply your shadow to the frame that's been left.
Paste in place (CTRL+SHIFT+V) the original copied square.
Send this square to the back.
Select all the objects and apply clipview.

You will now have the effect of an inner shadow, as shown in the attached pic.

Nice one Mike, you posted as I was doing mine.
