Default XARA version when opening file

This may have been addressed before, but I cannot find it. If I download a XARA file such as from the challenges, etc... the file always wants to open in XX5 and not Designer 6 yet I will get a message that the file has been created by a newer version than XX5. How can I change this to default to Designer 6? I am sure it is an easy solution.

Open the file then save the file out of Designer Pro 6.

In the Start > Search window, search for Set Associations. You can select a file and then change the default program to open it with,
