Info TEXT Tables in XARA WD

Im sure that there are people out there doing this but thought I might post this anyway

I am slowly converting from MS Front page (& loving xara more by the day) It was very easy in FP to make a table full of text. xara was a nightmare of manual construction & inputting - then I had a brain wave - make the table in WORD,export to pdf & then import optimised for editing into XARA - Job done & in 2% of the time

And thanks for the tip. There have been several suggestions for doing this but your's is the best one yet!

There is a lot to love in Web Designer 6.

    nwiz,
Nice idea! I just tried it, and it took me about 2 minutes to make a nice multi-column, multi-row table.

Err... I just copy and paste (Enhanced Metafile) directly from OpenOffice into Xara:

I did something similar to get a table into Web Designer 6... Publisher, Word and for that matter Front Page let you make tables and save the files as html. Then view the file in a browser (or preview window) and copy the html code from the first <table> code to the last </table> code. Paste it in a Placeholder. Next time I will try the PDF route though.

Oh well, I guess a direct copy and paste is too simple.

Hi all & thanks for the feedback - beretgascon is right about cut & paste - I just thought the pdf route was better for preserving all table info etc

I guess I'm missing something. I open a page in WD7.0 and do File | Import and select a .pdf file. All I get is the Adobe pdf icon that I can move and resize, but not the contents of the pdf file. What am I missing???
