    I was originally trying to create a small box which would float with the full alphabet on it so that the viewer could click on any letter and it could take them to the right letter but felt that I was being a bit too ambitious and settled for the floating up arrow. The box would be similar to http://www.procoprint.co.uk/yp-printingglossary.htm (the box on the right at the top, but would float as you moved up or down.

    I have the feeling that I didn't make myself fully clear. Did you actually preview the .web file that I linked you to and see what happens when you scroll down the page? If you did and decided that such a static object does not meet your needs, no harm done. It was just an idea that I thought might do the job for you.
