    Default import image with transparency

    I want to import a cartoon pic but all i get is a white box around it .....I need it to have the white as a transpaency.

    Try medhi eraser classic.
    This will still leave somewhat of a white line around the cartoon but unfortunately anything with the selected color (white) will also be erased..
    If the image is simple enough then with the shape editor tool cut out the object. then resave it as a png.
    I don't know what you want to do with the cartoon or who drew it origionaly but be careful because the image may be copywrighted and you will need permision to use the image. So whatever you do get permission to use the cartoon from the creator

    You could also try and use the trace tool to turn it into a vector object and deleate the unwanted parts that way but that also may have unfortunate consequences.

    At any rate if you didn't create it don't use it without permission.
